Waking The Trickster

In all cultures of the world, the trickster, is an integral part of myth. The trickster is depicted as an anthropomorphized animal, god, goddess, spirit, or human. She, or he disrupts the established order of things, creating chaos, but with intelligent intent, disrupting the status quo, and thus keeping society from becoming staid and complacent.

A significant catalyst for change, the trickster can right wrongs by subversive action, maneuvering within the rules of the power structure, to cross boundaries under the radar of the masters in charge.

Modern culture has lost its connection to myth as something beyond charming children’s stories, or topics only relevant to intellectual studies. Our art exhibit attempts to evoke and waken the trickster as something necessary, a real, present and powerful
