Ed Varney is an artist and curator who works with ideas using mediums such as writing, painting, collage, sculpture, printmaking, photography, concrete poetry, and Mail Art. He has an MA from Syracuse University and currently lives in Courtenay, BC, on Vancouver Island. He has been a member of Intermedia, Fluxus, Dada, the Mail Art Network, AVA, and a founding member of the Vancouver Poetry Front, Pacific Rim Consciouness, The Roundhouse, CVAA, Groupo des Artistes, Artropolis, the Poem Factory, Intermedia Press, and the Museo Internacionale de Neu Art. He recently produced the Mail Art Olympix. He has been making art since he was a teenager and continues to produce strange objects and images on a regular basis. His collection of art takes up a whole barn and a couple of attics. His ambition is to be a famous artist.
